The Philippines through the Department of Education hosted the annual conference of ASEAN education ministers – the 45th SEAMEO Council Conference (SEAMEC) last January 26-29, 2010 at the Shangri-La Hotel in Cebu.

DepEd Region 7 being the host region handled the preparatory and the the event activities itself including the transport supply of the delegates. Such was entrusted to Avis Rent A Car (Phils.), the leading car rental company in the country for almost 38 years now. It provided high end cars for the foreign ministers, luxury vans for their entourage, compact cars and coasters to the other conference participants.

The conference highlighted among others the collaborative projects of the SEAMEO member states which focus on the education in the region, integration of new aspects in school curriculum, and other approaches in both teaching and learning.

Aiming to further strengthen the ties and support on education among Southeast Asian countries, the conferences underlined this year’s theme, "Understanding the Vital Years for Future Learning".

Diamond Hotel, a world class hotel located in the scenic bay of Manila has teamed up with Avis Rent A Car, the leading car rental company in the country. A simple turnover rite was held last December 13, 2009.
